‘I first came to Restore Hope during Covid, and it just clicked. I saw the difference the charity was making for families and children and thought:
This is where I want to be.
As a single mum raising my kids, I often felt on the outside. If something like Restore Hope had been around then, I would have come. It’s a rare place—full of genuinely kind people offering real support. You can see how much the families value what happens here.
I mostly help with the crèche and toddler group and I’ve also supported family events. It’s so rewarding.
There’s nothing like seeing a child who won’t speak at the start of a session end up dancing with me by the end—that kind of moment makes me so happy.
Every time I volunteer, I leave feeling better than when I arrived. Honestly, I can’t think of a time I haven’t.’
